Company History

iExalt Electronic Publishing first began as WORDworks Software Architects in 1987,  the year that WORDsearch Version 1.0  was born.  At that time, hard drives were a rarity on computers, and the average computer speed was 8 MHz.

In 1989, WORDworks became NavPress Software, a division of NavPress, the book and magazine publishing operation of the non-profit Navigators ministry based in Colorado Springs. During this time, LESSONmaker 1.0 was launched and an upgrade to WORDsearch was also released.

Four years later, Dr. Jim Sneeringer, author of the Software, formed a partnership with Randolph Beck to take over the operation of NavPress Software as an independently owned, but closely affiliated business.

Over the last decade, NavPress Software has been part of several pioneering trends.  The WORDsearch CD Expandable Library was released in 1994, and it incorporated the first unlocking technology into the Christian market.  The following year, the Standard Template for Electronic Publishing (STEP) was adopted as the standard of choice for WORDsearch and LESSONmaker materials.

NavPress Software was then acquired by iExalt, Inc. in July of 1999. Headquartered in Houston, iExalt, Inc. was formed to provide Christian products and services that enrich both life and faith. iExalt's family of companies includes; Christian Happenings, a Christian events magazine; Christian Times newspapers; ChristianSpeakers.com, the nation's leading Christian speakers bureau; iExalt Electronic Publishing, a digital content library; Life Perspectives, a nationally recognized daily radio program; Listenfirst.com; Christianartists.com; and Preaching Magazine.

iExalt Electronic Publishing currently publishes 22 Bible Translations, and over 150 Reference works. Many Christian publishers have chosen WORDsearch to include as part of their electronic product offerings.
