FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WORDsearch and Epiphany Software Join Forces

Orlando, FL—July 14, 2003 WORDsearch Corp. and Epiphany Software, Inc., two leading providers of Bible software, jointly announced the merger of their companies today. Their combination brings together one of the largest electronic libraries of Bibles and reference resources with what is widely regarded as the easiest CD- and Web-based Bible software program in the industry. Epiphany’s Web-based technology will provide online study tools for the upcoming Beth Moore Internet-only Bible study produced by LifeWay Christian Resources. Last year’s Beth Moore Believing God event reached tens of thousands of registrants worldwide through the Internet using Epiphany’s tools.

“Joining with Epiphany is a key step in fulfilling our mission to serve those who preach and teach to change lives,” said Randy Beck, President of WORDsearch. “Through their technology and other key partnerships, like LifeWay, we’ll see lives changed by God’s Word around the world.”

“The product lines and skills of our two companies are highly complementary,” said Andy Cogan, Chief Technology Officer of WORDsearch and former President of Epiphany. “The two most important factors for users of Bible software are content and ease of use. With our combined assets, we’ll have an unsurpassed capability to serve the Bible study needs of everyone from a new believer to a gifted preacher.”

Wayne Hastings, President of Parable Source, part of the Parable Group of Christian retailers, said “For years I’ve thought that the combined functions of WORDsearch and Bible Explorer would be the best Bible software available, and now that’s come true.”

Prior to the merger, the key products of WORDsearch were the CD-based WORDsearch™ Bible study program, the LESSONmaker™ tool for creating small group discussions and a library of over 600 volumes of electronic books in the STEP® format for both of these programs. WORDsearch has been developed as a professional tool for preachers and Bible teachers. It is the basis of joint products with other publishers, like the Rick Warren Bible Library from Pastors.com, the Thompson® Chain Reference® Library by Kirkbride Bible, the Preacher’s Outline and Study Bible by Outline Bible, the Stephen Olford Expository Preaching Library, and several products from Gospel Light and others.

Epiphany’s products include the CD-based Bible Explorer® program and its library, plus the Web-based CrossBooks™ Bible study tool used on the www.LifeWay.com site and in the Beth Moore studies. CrossBooks is remarkable because it brings CD-level functionality to a Web-based program and it matches the interface of Bible Explorer. Both programs are noted for their ease of use.

Future releases of WORDsearch and LESSONmaker will be based on the Bible Explorer model with added functions to fill the requirements of a professional tool for pastors and other power-users. Bible Explorer will remain focused on being the easiest Bible software available anywhere. Both programs will have access to a vast combined library of contemporary and classic Christian works. WORDsearch will continue to publish new electronic books in the STEP format and the CROSS™ format used by Bible Explorer, and to support the STEP versions of WORDsearch for the foreseeable future.

WORDsearch has been producing software and electronic books for the Christian market since 1987. Beginning in 1989, it operated as NavPress Software until becoming iExalt Electronic Publishing, a part of iExalt, Inc, in July of 1999. It was the first electronic publisher to introduce the process of unlocking electronic books from CD-ROM in 1995, and was a charter member of the STEP consortium. In July 2002, WORDsearch was acquired out of iExalt by Randy Beck and Jack Tompkins, a former CEO of iExalt.

Epiphany Software is a family business that began as the dream of Liz Cogan, a programmer in Silicon Valley who wanted to use her family’s business and technical skills to serve the Lord. She enlisted her husband, Andy, and father, Frank Hannon, also high tech product developers, and formed Epiphany in 1993 to launch the Bible Explorer program two years later. Each new revision of Bible Explorer strengthened its reputation as the leader in ease of use to the degree that it has had visible influence in the design of nearly every Bible software product in the industry.
