Through his commentaries Calvin developed all the central principles of Calvinism in his strict readings of the Old and New Testaments. Just as many Theologians have before, Calvin not only gave excellent analysis of the text, but he also gave scriptural basis for 'Calvinism' itself. Calvin's Commentaries covers the New Testament except for 2 & 3 John and Revelation. Not included from the Old Testament are the book of Judges, Ruth, 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.

About the Author
John Calvin (1509-1564), was a prolific scholar and French theologian. He was a pastor during the Protestant reformation and a principal figure in the development of the system of Christian theology, which is known as Calvinism.
