"An enormously helpful series for the layperson and pastor alike because it centers on the theological message of each book and ties it directly with the text. This approach has been needed for some time and will be an invaluable supplement to other commentary series."

—Grant Osborne Ph.D., Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.

"A treasure house of insight into the biblical text. Written by some of the best scholars working today, it is an essential tool for pastors, students, church leaders, and lay people who want to understand the text and know how it relates to our lives today. Like the New Living Translation text it uses as its base, this commentary series is extremely readable."

—Tremper Longman III, Robert H. Gundry Professor of Biblical Studies, Westmont College, Santa Barbara, CA

The Cornerstone Biblical Commentary series is the product of nearly forty scholars, many of whom participated in the creation of the New Living Translation. The contributors to this series are well-known and represent a wide spectrum of theological positions within the evangelical community. The scholars have invested years of painstaking work to help you mine the riches of the Bible like never before.

The Cornerstone Biblical Commentary series was designed to help pastors, teachers, and students of the Bible understand every thought contained in the Bible. Each volume contains a well-researched introduction presenting a full book outline and detailing important facts about the author, the audience, the canonicity and textual history, the literary style, the historical reliability, and the book’s major themes and theological concerns.

If you love the New Living Translation, you'll want this new commentary series. These volumes will illuminate the reasons behind translation decisions and will clearly indicate how the New Living Translation unlocks the meaning of each passage.

In short, this will be one of the premier resources for those seeking an accessible but fairly high-level discussion of scriptural interpretation.
