He was formerly the chairman of the Practical Theology department at Talbot School of Theology. He holds five degrees from Talbot, Pepperdine University and Arizona State University. He has worked as an aerospace engineer before entering the ministry. He has 20 years of pastoral and teaching experience and is the bestselling author or coauthor of more than 50 books including Victory Over the Darkness, The Bondage Breaker and Finding Hope Again. Now on the board of FICM International, he travels extensively worldwide, equipping the church with the message of freedom in Christ. Hal Baumchen is Executive Director of Northland Counseling Services. He is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of counseling experience. He received his Master’s Degree from Wheaton Graduate School and his Doctorate of Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. He serves frequently as a seminar leader. He has taught workshops in the U.S.A., Canada, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, and South Africa. As an ordained minister, he has taught at Bethany International and Acts International.
