Based on sermons that Tozer preached from the final chapters of the letter to the Hebrews. The author underscores the necessity of an active, abiding faith in Jesus Christ so we can live lives pleasing to God.

The chapters of this book were originally preached as sermons at Avenue Road Alliance Church in Toronto. Whether spoken or written, Tozer's words were designed to 'promote personal heart religion' among God's people.

About the Author
He was called a 'A 20^th century prophet' even in his own lifetime. Tozer began his lifelong pursuit of God at the age of seventeen after hearing a street preacher in Akron, Ohio say: 'If you don't know how to be saved…just call on God.' Upon returning home, he climbed into the attic, and called on God to be saved.

In 1919, five years after his conversion, and without any formal theological training, Tozer accepted an offer to pastor his first church. Thus began his journey of forty-four years of ministry, serving faithfully with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) denomination.

In 1950, Tozer was elected editor of the Alliance Weekly magazine, now called, Alliance Life, the official publication of the C&MA.

Among the many books that he authored, the most well known is the Christian classic The Pursuit of God. His books impress on the reader the possibility and necessity for a deeper relationship with God.
