"A classic on the typological significance of the offerings mentioned in Leviticus, showing how each clearly points toward some particular aspect of redemptive work of Christ." "No one explains the significance of the Levitical offerings (in relation to Calvary) as well as Jukes does here. Suddenly, it bursts into life with several superb chapters which are practically essential to the study of Leviticus." "A very condensed, instructive, refreshing book. It will open up new trains of thought to those unversed in the teaching of the types." "Beginning with a defense of biblical typology, Jukes analyzes the five offerings of the Levitical system and discusses the typical significance of each." The Law of the Offerings is considered the standard work on the subject of the Tabernacle offerings and their significance. Andrew Jukes masterfully and clearly explains the offerings and their application to the New Testament believer. Exposition is given in depth of all five Levitical offerings as well as the entire sacrificial system. About the Author Jukes' main work was the translation of the Bible into the local langugage. Here Jukes was fortunate in his assistant, Muhammad Hassan S /O Sher Muhammad. Jukes acknowledged his services on many occasions. Jukes continued his work both at the translation of books of the Bible and at the task of a full bilingual dictionary. In 1898 the translation of the four Gospels were completed. Mr. Jukes's dictionary of the Jatki Punjabi language contains more than ten thousand entries. He prepared the dictionary in two parts, that is to say, in both Siraiki-English and English-Siraiki. With the financial help of the Government of India, Jukes' Siraiki-English dictionary was published in 1900, but his English-Siraiki dictionary could not be published and the manuscript appears to be lost. Jukes' writing also includes: The Names of God in Holy Scripture. Dr. Andrew Jukes passed away in 1931.
