This readable and accessible volume offers sixty-six solid, concise, evangelical commentaries-one on each book of the Bible. Also provided are introductory material on date, authorship, purpose, key themes and a to-the-point outline of each book. About the Editors

Donald A. Carson is a prominent, conservative scholar of the evangelical movement. He is currently a research professor of the New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, which is based in Deerfield, Illinois. Don Carson is also a speaker at many Christian conferences.

Carson's academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from McGill University and a Doctor of Philosophy in the New Testament from the University of Cambridge.

Richard Thomas France was born in 1938 and educated at Bradford Grammar School and Balliol College, Oxford; MA. He earned his BD. at the University of London and his PhD. at the University of Bristol.

He is a New Testament scholar and Anglican Rector. He was Principal of Wycliffe Hall Oxford from 1989 to 1995. He has also worked for the London School of Theology.

J. A. Motyer was formerly Principal of Trinity College, Bristol, England. He is a contributor to the Illustrated Bible Dictionary. He is also the author of The Message of Philippians and The Message of James.

Gordon Wenham, born 1943, is an Old Testament scholar and author of several books about the Bible. He read Theology at Cambridge University, graduating in 1965 with distinction, and completed his PhD on Deuteronomy in 1970. He has been awarded several scholarships in connection with Old Testament studies and has studied in Germany, America and Jerusalem. Professor Wenham has written a large number of articles and several books, including commentaries on Genesis, Leviticus and Numbers, and more recently a study of Old Testament narrative ethics, Story as Torah , and Exploring the Old Testament: the Pentateuch.

Gordon Wenham was until 2005 senior professor of Old Testament at the University of Gloucestershire, a post he held for 10 years. He is currently lecturing at Trinity College, Bristol.
