Connection Lifestyle Series

Biblical Response To Terror — This Lifestyles booklet is taken from the Wednesday night teaching following the September 11 terrorist attacks. Skip reminds us that times like these must bring us to our knees where we can rest in the foundation of our sovereign God and find hope in troubled times.

Confronting Your Culture — There is no such thing as secret discipleship; that's an oxymoron. Discipleship will destroy secrecy, or secrecy will destroy discipleship. Paul did something about it by approaching his culture in the center of their religious community. This Lifestyles booklet will encourage you to do the same.

Eternal Security — In this Lifestyles booklet, Skip reminds us that Jesus paid a huge and painful price for our salvation. That act was a free gift given to us by God's grace that can never be lost or taken away.

Light To The World — The resurrection has been studied from many points of view. It's been seen through the eyes of the disciples and the women who first saw Jesus after His resurrection. This Lifestyles booklet will encourage you to look at the resurrection of Jesus Christ from a new vantage point.

Overcoming Depression — In this Lifestyles booklet, Skip encourages us to change our emotional and mental perspectives which will change our outlook. Christians are not immune to depression and living in a world that is hostile to the gospel doesn't make it any easier. Many Christians feel guilty because they think spiritual people should never feel depressed. Skip encourages us with real solutions.

Paradise Regained — We can't know everything about our future, but we can know enough to realize that a day will come when it will get better than it is now — that day is when Jesus returns and rules forever. Knowing that should motivate and direct our actions today.

Procrastination — Procrastinating about superficial activities like taking out the trash or cleaning the house are among the things that many of us do each day. However, procrastinating about confronting significant, life—changing issues can spell trouble. Learn how to avoid procrastination and get on the road to growth in Christ in this Lifestyles booklet.

Standing Firm In Unsettling Times — This Lifestyles booklet from the text of Psalm 46 reminds us to stand still when we are overwhelmed. This knowledge gives us the strength we need to surrender to the One who is in control of every circumstance.

Temptation — Temptation begins with desire. We all have desires, but the danger comes when we are enticed by them and drawn into sin. In this Lifestyles booklet, we'll learn that our—God given impulses must be God—guided as well.

The Real Gate To Heaven — What could be more permanent than heaven? Our eternal home will be in a great location with the greatest views: God's throne, the river of life, and the sea of glass. What a thrill, simply to be in His presence!

Trusting An Unknown Future To A Known God — Often the unknown future paralyzes us and the failures of the past humiliate us. We desire a better life and decide on annual resolutions to make it so. However, we can't predict the future, and our promises to reform often go flat. In this Lifestyles booklet, Skip encourages us to let Scripture inspire us to anticipate God acting on our behalf.

Unforgiveness — Forgiveness is both vertical and horizontal in nature. We experience forgiveness vertically whenever we receive God's forgiveness for our sins or our failures. Horizontal forgiveness is that which flows from person to person on the human level.

What's The Point? — Perhaps God has been prodding you to reconsider the purpose and meaning of your life. Follow the path through the book of Ecclesiastes and you'll find it one of the most relevant ever. And perhaps you'll reach the same conclusion as Solomon: God is the point of it all!

Why Must Christians Suffer? — When believers experience pain we sometimes feel punished, abandoned, or betrayed by God. After we have tried everything and we are exhausted and desperate our God smiles at us and says, "I know you're tired and hurting. Let Me take your hand and show you the way".

Connection Study Guides

The Passion Of Christ — A Study of the Cross of Christ. This study guide goes along with Skip's series The Passion of Christ. This study is an in—depth look at the final week of Jesus' earthly ministry. From His arrival in Jerusalem to His death and resurrection, Skip examines Jesus' motivation. As a man and a member of the Godhead, Jesus' ultimate desire was to do His Father's will.

Worship: Life with Passion and Purpose — This study guide is an in-depth look at worship in the lives of believers. It examines several examples of people in the Bible who understood what it was to worship God. God created us to worship Him and certain qualities will be evident in your life if you are a true worshiper. As we study the lives of the worshipers in Scripture, we can understand what true worship is.

Dynamic Discipleship: — A Study in First Thessalonians — This study guide is taken from Skip's series in the book of First Thessalonians. In this series Skip examines the church at Thessalonica and highlights what it was that made this church a place where people were growing in their faith. This study guide can be used with or without the teaching series.

History's Last Chapter — A Study in Revelation — This study guide goes along with Skip's series in the book of Revelation. In this in—depth study, Skip digs deep into the book of Revelation to help us understand the events that will occur in the last days.

Miscellaneous Books from Skip

Relationships: — Connecting the Knots in the Threads of Life — If life was boiled down to its essence, I believe the most valued common element would be our relationships. Our relationships with God and our families provide the basic cords that keep us tethered to bearings and values. Many people have questions about relationships. This book is a response to the many questions about how to have meaningful and successful relationships.

The House That God Builds: — A Manual for Christian Parenting. In the heart of every parent is the desire to raise his or her children the right way. God's approach to parenting laid out in His Word is far superior to any other approach and will never be subject to the constantly changing trends of our society. This book highlights the biblical roles of the husband, wife, parent and child and highlights passages in Scripture that serve as guidelines for these relationships.

About the Author
Skip Heitzig is the senior pastor of Calvary of Albuquerque. Although he was raised in a religious home, Skip saw religion as a dead—end street with no answers. As a young musician in the late sixties and early seventies, his life revolved around drugs and the spirit world with astral projection and automatic writing. In 1973, Skip moved to the San Francisco Bay area to enroll in college and escape friends who were trying to "convert" him.

One night, while alone in his brother's apartment, Skip prayed to receive Christ after watching a Billy Graham television crusade. Soon after that, he returned to Southern California where he studied under Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. In 1981 he married Lenya, and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Skip reaches outside Albuquerque's borders through Calvary of Albuquerque's multi—media ministry: Connection Communications. His messages air nationally and internationally on more than 350 radio stations, via a half—hour radio program called, The Connection. Powerful 60—second evangelistic vignettes called God Spots air on over 450 radio stations throughout the US, and The Armed Forces Network worldwide. Additionally through this ministry, churches have been planted in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.

Skip serves on several Boards of Directors including Samaritan's Purse with Franklin Graham.
