Product Highlights
"If you have sensed that small groups might be the ideal format in which to do discipleship training but have wondered how, The Big Book on Small Groups is the book for you. In it Jeff Arnold develops a comprehensive, content-rich training course. I commend the book to all those who want a way to move their small group experience into new depth and possibility" What's so big about small groups? Small groups are a great way to build community. They can be a source of comfort and support in times of need. They are also a proven way of helping people grow to maturity in Christ. Small groups are crucial to growing and strengthening the church and reaching those outside. Building a good small group takes time and skill, however. That's why small group leader training is so important. But where do you start? Whether you're working alone or as part of a team, creating a solid small group program may seem like an overwhelming task. Jeffrey Arnold has been there. He has learned the ropes of small group life. He can help you discover what makes a good group, and he can help you communicate that vision to others. The Big Book on Small Groups will help you find information on the basics of group life-leadership, inductive Bible study, worship, caring, praying, evangelizing and mission. And if you want to use the book to train a group of small group leaders, you'll find instructions and outlines to help you along. The first four chapters (or four training sessions) will give you the basics to get going. The rest of the book will give you the support and nurture you need to take the group on to maturity. About the Author Jeff Arnold is the senior pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Beaver, Pennsylvania since 1997.
