This book and its companions, Biblical Eldership and The Biblical Eldership Study Guide, provide a thorough, biblical mentoring program to help train church elders. The Mentor's Guide is the leader's edition to the The Biblical Eldership Study Guide. It is for the mentoring elder only, not the trainee. Because elders are busy men, and many do not have the time or adequate resources to prepare for mentoring, this guide provides the mentoring elder with extensive answers to all the questions in the Study Guide, along with practical mentoring tips. About the Authors Alexander Strauch was raised in New Jersey and converted to Christ at a Bible camp in New York State. He received his undergraduate degree from Colorado Christian University and went on to earn his Master's in Divinity degree from Denver Seminary. For over forty years he has served as an elder at Littleton Bible Chapel near Denver, Colorado. Additionally, he has taught philosophy and New Testament literature at Colorado Christian University. A gifted Bible teacher and popular speaker, Mr. Strauch has helped thousands of churches worldwide through his expository writing ministry. He is the author of Biblical Eldership, The New Testament Deacon, Men and Women: Equal Yet Different, The Hospitality Commands, Agape Leadership (with Robert L. Peterson), Meetings That Work, Leading with Love, Love or Die: Christ's Wake-up Call to the Church and If You Bite and Devour One Another. Richard Swartley has over thirty-four years experience in church leadership as a self-supported elder. His secular fields were satellite communications equipment and satellite systems engineering. Swartley served as one of the founding elders of what has now become a large, evangelical, non-denominational church in the Northeast. Over the course of his ministry there, he served many years as elder. His written works include the Eldership in Action, A Wolf in the Pulpit? and Marriage Preparation: How to Give Couples the Right Start.
