This book comes to you with a presentation of Dr. Tozer's creative pulpit material, faithfully giving you his own thoughts and colorful expressions as he spoke them in his Chicago pulpit. They have been extracted and edited from sermon tapes.

In tribute to Dr. Tozer's long ministry in the Chicago pulpit, one of the laymen said, 'Dr. Tozer had not been with us long before we knew we had a prophet of God in our midst. It was then that we felt constrained to begin putting his Sunday morning and evening sermons on tape.'

About the Author
He was called a 'A 20^th century prophet' even in his own lifetime. Tozer began his lifelong pursuit of God at the age of seventeen after hearing a street preacher in Akron, Ohio say: 'If you don't know how to be saved…just call on God.' Upon returning home, he climbed into the attic, and called on God to be saved.

In 1919, five years after his conversion, and without any formal theological training, Tozer accepted an offer to pastor his first church. Thus began his journey of forty-four years of ministry, serving faithfully with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) denomination.

In 1950, Tozer was elected editor of the Alliance Weekly magazine, now called, Alliance Life, the official publication of the C&MA.

Among the many books that he authored, the most well known is the Christian classic The Pursuit of God. His books impress on the reader the possibility and necessity for a deeper relationship with God.
