About the Author
Joseph Augustus Seiss (1823-1904) was one of the most popular and powerful Lutheran preachers of the nineteenth century. In addition to his pastoral duties, he was an active lecturer and author of more than a dozen works, including The Apocalypse, The Gospel in Leviticus and The Gospel in the Stars.
