Unlock Steps" Installing the WORDsearch 9 CD
Do I need to have WORDsearch 5 or Bible Explorer or
WORDsearch 7 or WORDsearch 8 installed before I install WORDsearch
9?
No. WORDsearch 9 can be installed all by itself as a "stand-alone" program. But, if you had WORDsearch 7, WORDsearch 8, or Bible Explorer installed when you install WORDsearch 9, DO NOT UNINSTALL WORDsearch 7, WORDsearch 8 or Bible Explorer. When you installed WORDsearch 9, it merged with critical files in your existing WORDsearch 7, WORDsearch 8 or Bible Explorer program. So, uninstalling WORDsearch 7, WORDsearch 8 or Bible Explorer will remove these important files and prevent you from starting WORDsearch 9. Will WORDsearch 9 replace my WORDsearch 7 or 8 program?
No, WORDsearch 9 is a separate program and will be installed as a seperate program to a different location on your hard disk. However, WS9 will merge with your WORDsearch 7 and WORDsearch 8 program and use important WS7 or WS8 files and even the existing WS7 or WS8 library. So, DO NOT UNINSTALL WORDsearch 7 or WORDsearch 8 after installing WORDsearch 9! Can I remove WORDsearch 8 or WORDsearch 7 after I install
WORDsearch 9?
No. Uninstalling any previously installed WORDsearch program after installing WORDsearch 9 will break WORDsearch 9 and prevent your from starting it. Why did I receive all these DVDs with the WORDsearch 9
upgrade? And what do I do with them?
If you received a WS9 Basic Edition CD, that CD only installs the WORDsearch 9 program. The additional DVDs are most likely “eBOOK LIBRARY DVDs or our eBOOK LIBRARY Supplemental DVD. They contain all our books and are used to install your books incase you cannot install your books over the internet. NOTE: After installing the WORDsearch 9 Basic Edition CD, you may need to unlock your purchased books. To unlock your books, see the section below called " WORDsearch 9 Unlock Steps. " After you have unlocked your books, follow the instructions to install them. You can either install your books over the internet or use your eBOOK LIBRARY DVDs or our new eBOOK LIBRARY Supplemental DVD to install your books. If you are still missing books after scanning all your eBook Library CDs or the new Library DVD, try installing your missing books from the internet. If you are still missing books, please call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-888-9898 from 9:00 AM CST to 10:00 PM CST Monday through Friday. When I try to install books from the eBook library DVDs, I
get a message, "No books were installed from this disk, please insert
another Disk or press the Done Button."
If you get this message, it could mean that none of your missing books
were on that particular eBook library DVD and you need to continue the
process by inserting another library DVD. This message could also mean that the Missing Book Installer program is scanning the wrong drive. Change the " D:\ " in the Book installer dialog window if your DVD drive is not the “ D:\ ” drive. Then click Search. Why do some of my books have red question marks by

"Please enter a valid scripture filter" using the Search feature
Your scripture filter field is blank causing the message. When using the Search feature, there are 3 things you must do: 1. Enter a word or phrase2. Select a book or books to search 3. Tell the Search freature what part of the Bible you want to search - the scripture filter 3. You have not told the Search feature what part of the Bible you want to search. In the bottom left corner area of the WS9 Search
window, there is a section there called the "Bible Search Options"
section with a "Scripture filter" field. That "Scripture filter"
field needs to be filled in. The "Scripture filter" offers you the ability to search specific or general parts of your Bibles such as just the OT or just the NT or just the Gospels or a specific book or range of the Bible.
Pages in Strong's Talking Greek and Hebrew Talking Dictionary are blank. Pages in Strong's Concordance are blank. Pages and section of Adam Clark's Commentary are blank. When I mouse over a Strong's number, the pop up window is blank. Run the WORDsearch Font Utility program according to the steps
below:
I have installed WORDsearch 9. Can I uninstall WORDsearch 7
or WORDsearch 8 now?
No. When WORDsearch 9 was installed, it sniffed out, detected and attached itself to important WORDsearch 7 or WORDsearch 8 program files, library books and documents. If you remove WORDsearch 7 or WORDsearch 8, the critical files that WORDsearch 9 was using to start will be cut off. Zipscript Hangs at "One moment please ... Zipscript is loading ... " Takes a long time to load and may seem to hang up the computer. After installing WORDsearch 9, you may notice Zipscript taking a long time to load. We are aware of this issue and are working to improve this. When the fix is ready, it will be installed by downloading the WORDsearch update. So, keep downloading the WORDsearch 9 updates whenever they become available. In the meantime, you can do 2 things: You can sit and wait to let Zipscript load completely. You can stop Zipscript from loading when your computer starts and start it manually when you want to use it. How To Stop Zipscript from Starting When You Start Your
Computer:
Look for the Zipscript icon in the system tray - the lower right hand corner of your computer screen next to the time. (The Zipscript icon is a white Z on a blue circle.) Right click on the Zipscript icon and select "Options." This should make the "Options" window appear. Click on the General Tab then uncheck the box "Load Zipscript at startup." If Zipscript is still starting when you start your computer, go into the Microsoft Configuration utility and turn off Zipscript there. How To Start the Microsoft Configuration Utility program and Turn Off Zipscript:
The pages in Strong's Talking are blank on the Hebrew side. The Greek side looks OK. Run our WORDsearch Font utility by clicking on the link below.
Be sure to follow these 3 steps when you run it:
What is this indexing message I keep seeing? At the bottom of my screen I see a progression bar that says Indexing Step 2 of 5. What is it doing? Can I still use the program or do I have to wait for it to finish? First of all, Indexing makes the Search feature run 10 times faster so you want indexing. Second, WS9 runs the indexing process when you first install your books or whenever a change is made to a book in your Library. So when you download a new book or update a book or even when you refresh the Library, the Indexing will occur. During the Indexing process, you can safely use all of the WORDsearch 9 program except the Search feature until the indexing is completed. NOTE: You will need about 5 GBs of free space on your hard disk to allow Indexing to complete. Also, the more books you have, the longer it takes to finish Indexing. Is WORDsearch 9 compatible with Windows 7? Yes. WORDsearch 9 will install on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Is WORDsearch 9 compatible with a Mac? Yes. WORDsearch 9 will install on a Mac as long as it has the Intel processor and 10.5.x (Leopard), 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) or the new Mac OS X 10.7 called Lion. 7. Where are my books? Where is the Library Window?
Look to the left. Along the left hand side of the program window is the Resources Window. In it, you will find the Library section with category folders and books inside them. Normally, the Resources Window is hidden. If you do not see it, move your mouse pointer to the left hand border of the program window and rest it there or click on it. This will make the Resources Window slide open. Another way to make the Resources window appear is by click on "View" in the main menu then clicking on "Resources (Pinned)." You can also use the following keyboard shortcut - "Ctrl + L" - to slide open the Resources window. What if some of my books are missing in WS9?
Make sure you have opened the Resources window and that you can see the Library section. If you have examined all the category folders and
sub category folders in the Library section, press the F9 key on your
keyboard. (This will open the "Open Book" window.) If you still feel like you are missing books, call our Customer Service Department at 1-800-888-9898 and tell them what books you are missing. Ask them where these books are supposed to appear. If these books are not there, ask if these books are even in your account. If they are, go thru the Unlock process again. Where is the Bible Reading Planner? It used to be in the
Devotionals folder but I do not see it there or in any of the other
category folders in my Library.
If you cannot find the Bible Reading Planner, download the update. This
book was broken, but it's was fixed in the WORDsearch 9 update that was
released on January 5, 2010. If you encounter a problem or get an error during the update process, click on this link for assistance “ Problems / Errors Updating the WORDsearch 9 Program ”. When I hover my mouse over a Strong's number, the pop up
window is blank or it shows up as a thin black line. When I click on a Strong's number, the Strong's book opens but it's pages are blank - missing text. I also noticed that pages in the Old Testament side of Adam Clark commentary are blank. You may just need to reinstall the fonts that produce the
Greek and Hebrew characters in our books.
