This book further expands the study of the important women of the Old and New Testaments. These characters can show us life-lessons dealing with the ultimate surrender to God in obedience, or the failure that comes from a choice of rebellion. Women in Scripture will also provide insights for dealing with their homes and the raising of their children, all under the theme of "Following God" fully. New themes for understanding the woman's position before God and His plan and answers to many difficult questions are discussed at length in this new book.

Characters from this list are included in this Bible study workbook:

  • Hagar
  • Lot's Wife
  • Rebekah
  • Leah
  • Rachel
  • Bathsheba
  • Abigail
  • Jezebel
  • Elizabeth
  • the Woman at the Well
  • Mothers of the Bible
  • Women in the Gospels

These books include twelve lessons of God's sufficiency and grace in times of disobedience and times of surrender. Part of AMG Publishers' Following God Series.

Eddie Rasnake graduated with honors from East Tennessee State University in 1980. He and his wife, Michele, served for nearly seven years on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. Eddie then served four years as campus director of the Campus Crusade ministry at the University of Tennessee. In 1989, Eddie left Campus Crusade to join Wayne Barber at Woodland Park Baptist Church as the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Training. He has been ministering in Eastern Europe in the role of equipping local believers for more than a decade and has published materials in Albanian, Greek, Italian, Romanian, and Russian. Eddie serves on the boards of directors of the Center for Christian Leadership in Tirana, Albania, and the Bible Training Center in Eleuthera, Bahamas. He also serves as chaplain for the Chattanooga Lookouts (Cincinnati Reds AA affiliate) baseball team. Eddie and his wife Michele live in Chattanooga, Tennessee with their four children.

Richard L. Shepherd has been engaged in some form of ministry for more than twenty years, focusing on areas of teaching, discipleship, and prayer. He has served in churches in Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Tennessee and now serves as Director of Prayer and Spiritual Awakening with the Florida Baptist Convention. The Lord's ministry has taken him to several countries, where he has been involved in training pastors, church leaders, and congregations. Rick has also lectured on college and seminary campuses. He graduated with honors from the University of Mobile and holds a Master of Divinity and a Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He and his wife Linda Gail have four children and make their home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Wayne A. Barber was born in 1943 in Roanoke, Virginia to Claude and Myrtle Barber. He grew up in a loving home and shared his father's love for fishing. He played basketball in high school and college, rightly so since he stands 6' 7' tall. He graduated in 1968 and served in ministry for seven years before being saved in October of 1975. He pastored his first church in Switzer, Kentucky in 1978 and moved to Lexington, Mississippi the spring of 1979. In 1981 God called him to Chattanooga, Tennessee to pastor the congregation of Woodland Park Baptist church for the next 18 years. While in Chattanooga, Wayne developed a good relationship with Jack and Kay Arthur, who founded Precept Ministries and attended Wayne's church. He became a co-teacher at Precept Ministries for 14 years. He learned to exegete scripture through weekly meetings with Dr. Spiros Zodhiates, one of the world's leading Greek scholars. Wayne shared a radio broadcast with Dr. Zodhiates. Wayne has taught around the world for AMG International, Dr. Zodhiates' outreach ministry. On March 24, 2002, Wayne Barber became Senior Teaching Pastor at Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Along the way, Wayne met and married Diana. They have been married for more than 31 years. They have two grown children, Stephanie and Steven, a son-in-law, Erik, and daughter-in-law, Ann, and two grandchildren Hollen and Jonathan.
