The Men of Character Bundle offers serious and practical help from the lives of 9 role models found in the Bible who can be described as “men of character.”
An intense Bible study on the lives of Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Elijah, Daniel, and Paul, the Men of Character Bundle can be used for sermons, small groups, and solo studies. While these men were favored by God, this isn’t a sanitized study of flawless men. Their sad mistakes, sins, and acts of selfishness teach as much as their acts of faith.
Each Men of Character volume is divided into 12 or 13 chapters following the life of the character. This makes it perfect for weekly small group studies. There is enough material to last over two years.
Each lesson begins with reading a passage of Scripture. Then Dr. Getz puts this passage into perspective with an engaging challenge or personal story. Getz delivers godly insight to help us learn from great men of God. Every chapter has a section called Becoming God's Man Today, which includes 2 or 3 principles to live by. This is followed by Personalizing These Principles, Set a Goal, Memorize the Following Scripture, and Growing Together, which offers a few questions designed for small-group discussion.
If you preach, you’ll find the lessons are laid out in way that is ideal for taking to the pulpit. Dr. Getz is a gifted expositor and Bible teacher. Everything he writes, you can almost hear being preached. It can also be used individually in personal study to shape you into becoming a better man.
Every once in awhile, a mentor comes along with advice that is so wise, it lifts our walk with the Lord to a higher level. Dr. Getz is that kind of a mentor.
