From Our Hearts to Yours…

As Christians, we know we need Jesus for our salvation, but how many of us truly realize just how much we need Jesus everyday? We need to know Him as our personal Savior and we need Jesus to be the Lord of our lives. We need to pray to know God's will. We need to be sensitive to the leading of His Holy Spirit to accomplish all that He desires for us.

We can make excuses everyday for why we do not have time to fit Jesus in, as our world continues to keep us busy and focused on other things. Before we know it, our lives do not look so different from the person who does not know Jesus at all. This compromise leads to struggles and conflicts, like being blown and tossed by the wind. However, we cannot overcome the distractions of this world without drawing near to the Lord and choosing to make Him Lord of our life.

The only way to live a life for Jesus Christ is to spend time with Him everyday. If you want to know His will for your life, then this is the beginning. Jesus wants all of us. He wants to teach us His word and He wants us to learn about His will for our lives. Most of all, He just wants us to know Him as a personal and intimate God, a loving God who is interested in all our ways (Psalm 139:1-3).

We personally have learned over the years that journaling our prayers bring much comfort and peace in both good and bad times. There is something special about writing out prayers. For many of us, taking the time to write anything requires a self-discipline and commitment. Our culture has become so time conscious and efficient that we no longer value time spent in quiet meditation. Yet, quiet time is the absolute requirement in knowing our Lord, time in His word and time to pray.

Our hearts' desire is to teach others what we practice everyday. We want everyone to learn how to study God's word, how to pray and how to hear His voice. Keeping a daily prayer journal is a powerful tool of inspirations and blessings. We love this journal because it is designed to provide intimate, devotional time between you and the Lord. Every person who commits to making God a part of his or her day will be blessed.

This prayer journal is divided into three primary sections: Devotional, Asking and Your will. The layout is designed to keep each section separate and easy to use.

Blessings come from writing down our prayers. This habit needs to be formed and maintained because of the good fruit it produces in our lives. We tend to quickly forget what we read or hear but we remember what we write down and meditate over. And it is always encouraging to go back and read the history of God's faithfulness in journals written at different times and stages of life. The Lord wants us to always remember....He tells us not to forget.

"Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren." Deuteronomy 4:9

Use this journal as an effective tool to help you remember God's goodness all the days of your life.

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

God is so good to us every day. Jesus wants to be the Lord of our lives everyday so we can know Him personally. He wants to take all of our burdens. He wants us to have peace, love and joy in our lives every day. We pray to have hope for today and passion for tomorrow—all for Jesus.

May this journal be a tool for you to use daily and may you draw closer to God as you become a Daily Disciple for Him.
