  1. Press your "Ctrl" key and your "F" key at the same time. This will open a "Find" window in your browser.
  2. Type in a word then press the "Enter" key. Your browser will go to that word and even highlight the word where it appears on this page.

What is the Android app? What does it do?

The WORDsearch Android app is an app designed to help you access and read the books in your WORDsearch account.

Below is a brief list of its main features:

  • You can download and install the books from your WORDsearch account
  • You can create bookmarks, highlights, and notes anywhere in your books
  • You can search your Library for a book and search a book for a word
  • You can either scroll through your books or swipe to give you a paging experience
  • You can touch a Bible reference in a book and instantly read the verse or jump to your Default Bible to that verse

How do I get the Android app? Where do I get it? How do I install it?

You can find, download and install our app by following the steps below:

  1. On your Android device, tap on the "Play Store" icon. (You can also open a browser and go to market.android.com)
  2. Do a search for the words WORDsearch Bible
  3. Find our app then tap on it
  4. Tap on the "Free" or "Install" button to download/install it

What are the installation requirements?

Below are the requirements to setup and run our app:

  1. You'll need a Google account to download our app
  2. You need to be signed on to your Google account
  3. You also need an online WORDsearch account
  4. Your Android device must have version 4.1, aka. Jelly Bean

How do I find out what version of Android I have?

Follow the steps below:

  1. Tap on your Apps icon to display all your app icons
  2. Tap on the Settings icon
  3. Tap on About device or About tablet
  4. Look for Android version

When I installed it, it asked me to sign in with my WORDsearch ID. What's that?

Your WORDsearch ID is your unique, personal, WORDsearch account identifier.

  • It's the email address that we have on file for your account.
  • It's the email address that you use to access your account.
  • It's the email address that you use to buy books online.
  • It's the email we use to email you offers and advertisements about our sales.

If you do not know this email address, call our Sales and Customer Service Department at 1-800-888-9898 or email them at wordsearchsales@lifeway.com.

After you enter your WORDsearch ID (your email address), you are asked to enter your account password.

If you don't remember your account password, look for the words "Forgot Password" and tap on them. Follow the instructions in the prompts that appear and you will receive an email that will allow you to reset or change your password. Do that, then log back into the Android app using your email address and your new password to use the app and access your Library.

Why is it taking so long for the app to start up?

If you have a large Library, it may take a while for the app to access your account, inventory all your books, then deliver this information to the app. The speed of the internet and the availability of our server can also affect the response time.

Where are my books? How do I get my books? How do I open a book? How do I find a particular book?

Because you logged into our Android app using your WORDsearch ID, the app can now connect to your account in our customer database and automatically pull down the books that are registered in your account.

In the upper left corner of the app, next to the WORDsearch logo, you will see your book category menu button. When you start the app for the first time, it will say "All Books" and next to it, the number of books in your Library.

Tap on "All Books" to get a drop down menu of all your book categories and the number of books you have access to in each of those categories.

Tap on a category to display the books in that category.

Tap on a book cover to download it or to open it.

You can also access a book by tapping on the magnifying glass on the bar at the top of the app then typing in a title, part of a title or an author's name.

Are my books already installed?

No. When you install the app, you only get the app and one book, the Holman Christian Standard Bible. You will have to install the rest of your books.

To install the rest of your books, just tap on each one.

Why do some of my book covers say "No Image Available?"

We are still working on the book covers. When the covers are finished, they will automatically download.

How do I turn pages in my books and how to I go from Bible book to Bible book or from one book chapter to another book chapter?

Open a book. To turn pages, swipe the screen to the left.

To go from Bible book to another Bible book, tap on the icon at the upper right corner (a column of three dots followed by a column of three lines). This will display the Bible books or book chapters or chapter verses. Just tap to go there.

Can I get two books side by side?

No. At present, the app is just a basic reader; however, we are working on enhancements. Keep your eye on our webpage to learn about any changes.

How do I highlight text?

Do a long press (2 seconds) on a word in an open book. This will display an options bar at top with the Highlighter icon on it. (The Highlighter icon looks like a sharpie or marker.) The long press will also produce selecting bars around the text you pressed on.

Drag your selecting bars to cover the text you want to highlight, then tap the Highlighter icon.

How do I copy text?

Follow the steps below:

  1. Do a long press (2 seconds) on a word in your book. (This will produce an options bar at top with the Copy icon on it. The Copy icon looks like 2 squares.)
  2. The long press will also produce selecting bars around the text you pressed on.
  3. Drag your selecting bars to cover / highlight the text you want to copy
  4. Tap the Copy icon.

How do I bookmark a page?

Do a long press (2 seconds) on a word in your book. (This will produce an options bar at top with the Bookmark icon on it. The Bookmark icon looks like a ribbon.)

How do I find the bookmarks I have made previously?

Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the book you made your bookmarks in.
  2. Tap on a word in that book. (This will produce an options bar at top.)
  3. Look for the Table of Contents icon in upper right corner. (To the right of the magnifying glass. It will look like 3 dots next to 3 bars.)
  4. Tap on the Table of Contents icon. (This will display the Table of Contents window.)
  5. At the top of the Table of Contents window, look for the Bookmark icon then tap on it.
  6. Select the bookmarks you have made to go there.

How do I make a note?

Follow the steps below:

  1. Do a long press (2 seconds) on a word in an open book. (This will produce an options bar with the Note icon on it. The Note icon looks like a big square.)
  2. Tap on the Note icon. (This will produce the notes window and your keyboard.)
  3. Type in your note.
  4. Tap on the Save button at the upper right corner of the notes window to save your note.
  5. A small Notes icon will appear next to the word you tapped on when you opened the Notes window.

How do I find the notes I have made previously?

Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the book you made your notes in.
  2. Tap on a word in that book. (This will produce an options bar at top.)
  3. Look for the Table of Contents icon in upper right corner. (It will look like 3 dots next to 3 bars to the right of the magnifying glass.)
  4. Tap on the Table of Contents icon. (This will display the Table of Contents window.)
  5. At the top of the Table of Contents window, look for the Notes icon, then tap on it.
  6. Select the notes you have made to see the note and to go there.

How do I delete a book?

Follow the steps below:

  1. Long tap on a book cover. (This will change the options in the top bar. You will now see a check mark, the word "DONE", the words "1 selected" and to the far right, a file cabinet icon that looks like 2 squares, one on top of the other.)
  2. Tap on the file cabinet icon in the upper right corner of the screen to delete the selected book.

How do I increase the font size?

Open a book. Look in the bottom left corner of the screen an you will see a capital "A" and lower case "a." Tap on these letters to get the options to increase the size of the font, as well as the option to change the background color of your open books.

How do I add books to my Library?

After you buy a book and it is registered into your account, sync the library according to the steps below and the book will show up.

How to Sync Your Library

  1. Look in the upper right corner of the app for three squares that form a column
  2. Tap on those three squares
  3. Tap on "Sync Library"

Why is it taking so long for my new book(s) to show up?

If you just bought a large collection of books, it may take a while for the app to access your account, inventory this new order, then deliver these new books to the app. The speed of the internet and the availability of our server can also affect the response time.

Also, we may not have a license to install the book on an Android device or the book may not yet be available for the Android app.
