Question: What are the requirements to install the WORDsearch eReader?

Answer:

  1. Apple iPad Generation 2
  2. iOS version 5.0 or higher
  3. An Internet connection
  4. An iTunes account
  5. An Online WORDsearch account

Question: How to I find out what iOS version my iPad has?

Answer:

  1. Tap on the Home button at bottom of iPad
  2. Tap on Settings icon
  3. Tap on General
  4. Tap on About
  5. Tap on Version

Question: What is my WORDsearch ID?

Answer:

  1. Your WORDsearch ID is an email address.
  2. It is the email address that is associated with your WORDsearch account.
  3. It is the email that you use when you buy a book online.
  4. It is the email address you use when you log into your online WORDsearch account.

Question: What is my LifeWay ID? How do I know if I have a LifeWay ID?

Answer:

  1. A LifeWay ID is an email address.
  2. It is used to access online book reading services provided by the LifeWay Corporation such as myWSB.com, Reader.LifeWay.com or LifeWay.com.
  3. If you have an account with myWSB.com or with Reader.LifeWay.com or with LifeWay.com then you have a LifeWay ID.

WORDsearch eReader Installation Steps

How do I install the WORDsearch eReader iPad App?

  1. Open these instructions on your iPad
  2. Tap on the link below to download our app from the Apple iTunes page: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wordsearch-bible/id484607082?mt=8
  3. Tap on the "Install" button to the right of the big blue WORDsearch logo
  4. Enter your iTunes account and password if prompted
  5. When the progression bar below the WORDsearch icon completes, tap on "Open"
  6. Tap on "Sign in with your WORDsearch ID" if you have an online WORDsearch account. Tap on "Register for an account" if you do not have an online WORDsearch account, then, after you complete the registration, return to this step and sign in.
  7. Type in the email address and the password to your WORDsearch account.
  8. If you have a LifeWay ID, tap on "sign in using your LifeWay ID."
  9. If you are unsure if you have a LifeWay ID, tap on "Skip this step."

Problems Installing the WORDsearch eReader

Question: What is my WORDsearch ID?

Question: What is my password for my WORDsearch ID?

Answer:

  1. Your WORDsearch ID is an email address.
  2. It is the email address that is associated with your WORDsearch account.
  3. It is the email that you use when you buy a book online.
  4. It is the email address you use when you log into your online WORDsearch account.

If you have forgotten your WORDsearch ID password, or, if you are receiving an error trying to log in such as "Invalid email address or password" or "Could not log in. Check your user name and password," tap the link below to go to our login page, then tap on "Forgot your password? Click here." The instructions to reset your password will be emailed to you: http://www.WORDsearchBible.com/users/sign_in.

NOTE: If you are NOT receiving our password reset email, check your Spam folder, your Junk Mail folder and even the Trash folder in your email program. The replacement password email could be there.

Question: Where are all my books?

Answer:

We updated and converted our books to a new, improved format. As a result, your old books were deleted. You must re-download them again. Just tap on a book to download it.

Questions / Problems Finding Your Books

Question: Where is my Library? How do I access my books?

Answer:

Look at the right hand side of the app for a black arrow pointing to the right. Tap on the black arrow. This will unhide the Book Window and show you your book categories. Tap on a category in this Book Window. That will close the Book Window and display the books in that category.

Question: I am missing a lot of my books. What happened to them?

Answer:

Some books are still not yet ready.

Upgrading to the new version removed all your books so that we can provide you with a new, improved format of books. At present, we are still formatting many books so it may take a while.

Keep syncing your app once a day to ensure all your books download when they are available.

Questions / Problems Regarding Downloading Books

Question: How do I download a book?

Answer:

Tap on book cover. If the book is not already downloaded, it will instantly start downloading.

Question: Can I download all my books at once or do I have to tap on each book one at a time?

Answer:

Unfortunately, you must tap on each book one at a time.

Question: Downloading books is taking forever. It’s hanging at "downloading." Can I speed up the download process?

Answer:

Try improving your Wi-Fi signal by getting closer to your wireless router.

Also, try downloading just one book at a time.

Also remember, thousands of other iPad app customers are also downloading their books so that can reduce your download speed.

Question: I am downloading a book and it is just hanging at "processing"

Answer:

Stop the app from running then restart it. Then try downloading the book again.

How to Stop the WORDsearch eReader App for iPad from Running

  1. Double tap on your Home button very quickly (This will roll up a window at the bottom of your screen and show you all the app that are running)
  2. Long Tap (tap and hold ) on the WORDsearch app icon
  3. When all the app icons start to wiggle, you will see the "-" symbol in the upper corner of each icon
  4. Tap on the "-" symbol next to the WORDsearch app icon (the app is no longer running on your iPad)
  5. Double tap on your Home button very quickly to return to your normal Home screen

Question: I am Getting the Error "Download Failed. The Request Timed Out."

Answer:

Tap to remove the error, then try again. The app will only give you so much time to download your books.

Questions / Problems with Already Downloaded Books

Question: I own all the 42 POSB volumes and they are appearing as 42 individual books instead of just 1 book.

Answer:

We do have plans to make "multi volume" books appear as 1 book. Keep downloading the updates to get this capability when it is available.

Basic "How To" and Usage Questions

Question: How do I access my books? Where is my Library?

Answer:

Look at the right hand side of the app for a black arrow pointing to the right. Tap on the black arrow. This will unhide the Book Window and show you your book categories.

Question: How do I download a book?

Answer:

Question: How do I get the Table of Contents of a book?

Answer:

Follow the steps below

  1. Tap on a word in the open book (this will reveal the "book window toolbar" at top)
  2. Look on the left hand side of the bar for an icon that looks like 3 dots and 3 lines then tap on it (this will drop down a list of the chapters in the book)

The book window toolbar also contains a "Book | Chapter | Verse" button in the middle to help you go to a specific book, chapter or verse in a Bible or in a commentary.

Question: How do I change my Default Bible?

Answer:

Follow the steps below

  1. Go to your My Library page
  2. Look in the upper left corner for an icon that looks like the top half of a person
  3. Tap on this "Person" icon (This will unhide the Personal Settings window on the left)
  4. Tap on Settings
  5. Tap on Default Translation
  6. Tap on the translation of your choice.

Question: How do I delete a book from the iPad app?

Answer:

Press on a book cover and hold your finger down on it for about 5 seconds. The option to Delete will soon appear.

Question: How do I get 2 books open side by side? (AKA, Dual Pane Mode)

Answer:

Follow the steps below:

  1. Open a book
  2. If you are holding your iPad in the Portrait position, look at the bottom of the book for 2 thin vertical lines then tap on these 2 lines. If you are holding your iPad in the Landscape position, look at the right of the book for the 2 thin vertical lines then tap on these 2 lines. (This should open the secondary book window) NOTE: If you do not see the 2 thin vertical lines at the right of the book, tap on a word in the book.
  3. Tap in the Secondary window
  4. Look for a double square icon at bottom of secondary window then tap on it. (This will open the "Select Content" window) NOTE: If you do not see a double square icon at bottom of secondary window, tap in the Secondary window again.
  5. In the "Select Content" window, tap on your desired book, if it is present, or tap on "Add a New Book" (This will open the "Add a New Book" window and show you your books)
  6. In the "Add a New Book" window, Tap on a downloaded book in your Library. (This will place that book in the "Select Contents" window)
  7. Tap on the book in the "Select Contents" window and it will appear in the secondary window

Question: How do I make 2 open books sync with each other?

Answer:

First of all, the w books must be verse based books such as a Bible and a Commentary

If the 2 open books are verse based books, follow the steps below:

  1. Open 2 books
  2. Tap in the book in the secondary window to show the book window toolbar at the top
  3. Look for a circle icon that is made of 2 arrows then tap on it. When you have enabled syncing, you will see the words "navigation synced"

Question: How do I Copy and Paste from the app?

Answer:

Presently, this capability is not available but it will be soon. When it is available, follow the steps below:

  1. Press on a word in a book and hold your finger down on it (a long tap) and you will get a tool bar with options to select text, Copy, Make a Note, Bookmark the Page or Highlight the selected text
  2. Select the text
  3. Tap on Copy

Problems Using Features in the eReader

Question: My app is shutting down for no apparent reason

Answer:

If your app is shutting down for no apparent reason, follow our recommendation below:

  1. Remove the app
  2. Re-download and install the app
  3. Download just 1 or 2 books then test for the crashing behavior
  4. If the app does not shut down, download a few more books then test again for the crashing behavior
  5. If the app does continue to shut down, please contact us at 1-888-854-8400
